Export Packaging & Export Crates
We manufacture and pack crates ready for export using timber heat treated and marked to meet applicable ISPM 15 requirements. We do not export goods or arrange freight.

Why ISPM 15 matters
Most countries require wood packaging material used in international trade to be treated and marked under ISPM 15, the international standard for phytosanitary measures. Untreated timber packaging can be refused, treated or destroyed at the border, which means delay and cost for the consignment inside it.
Basingstoke Packaging Ltd is ISPM 15 H-T standard accredited, so cases, crates, pallets and skids can be supplied using heat-treated and appropriately marked timber, ready for your exporter or freight provider.
We are certified by the Forestry Commission for the ISPM 15 wood packaging material marking programme required for export.

Cases built for the way your consignment travels
We manufacture cases around the packaging requirements for goods travelling by road, air or sea. We provide the packaging, not the freight or export service.
Sea freight
Softwood, waterproof paper lined for sea freight.
Air freight
Plywood for air freight, for lighter construction to keep the costs of transportation to a minimum.
Road freight
A combination of either construction for road freight.
Export packing for sea freight
Goods shipped by sea can spend weeks in containers and ports, exposed to damp, condensation and movement. For sea freight we build softwood export cases lined with blue waterproof paper to help keep moisture away from the contents, using ISPM 15 heat-treated timber.
Sensitive items such as bearings, electrical equipment and precision components can be held in foam-lined cases or with foam fittings, with internal bracing and blocking to stop movement. Larger items can also be vacuum sealed before packing.
Getting a quotation for an export case
Let us know the inside dimensions of the case you require and we will send you a free quotation. If you prefer, we can send a representative to measure the item you need packing.
Once the goods are packed, collection, freight booking, export declarations and onward shipment are arranged by you or your appointed freight provider.

Supporting documentation available on request
For customers supplying goods into the European Union, we can provide available supporting information about the packaging and materials to assist with PPWR compliance documentation where required.
This can include information relating to the materials and packaging used, supporting supplier evidence and applicable conformity documentation available to us. Responsibility for confirming the complete compliance of the packed product and shipment remains with the customer or relevant party in the supply chain.
If your customer or supply chain requires evidence of packaging compliance, speak to our team when requesting a quotation.
